Now it finally feels like fall as we welcome The Great Pumpkin and sending temps!
Summer time bouldering in the south, hot & humid but so much fun. Great time in the woods with family and friends at Dayton Pocket.
Thank you @confessionsofaclimbingparent for all the great photos :-) #confessionsofaclimbingparent
Holy cow! @climbing_emma just won Bronze at the YWC! Beyond proud of her!
@climbing_emma, @callie.close and the rest Team USA FYB speed girls are all moving on to semifinals! Semifinals will be streamed live 9am EST @ www.ifsc-climbing.org. So excited for them!
@climbing_emma and @jennharmony are having quite the adventure in Moscow. Lots of sights that amaze and sketchy taxi rides that keep you guessing. Emma is having a great time with her team and is excited for her competition on Friday.
@climbing_emma and @jennharmony are on their way to Russia for Youth World Championships. Bummed to stay behind, but so excited for them both!
Public Service Announcement - Be sure to check your holds before you start to climb.
As @ethanhuntclimbs almost found out the hard way that it's not only spiders and snakes you need to look out for when you boulder in the summertime, but bats as well. Turns out this guy did not like getting poked in the face while you are feeling the holds in your climb. He complained loudly for a minute or two and then went right back to sleep completely unaware of the chuffing happening all around him. Still a great day to be outside with the young guns :-) #confessionsofaclimbingparent
Need to give a shout out to our photographer friend @nickneidhardt for capturing some great pics at Nationals! Thanks again for the fantastic photos.
@climbing_emma had a great nationals. She made her way into Sport climbing semifinals and finished 20th in the nation. She crushed in qualifiers and semifinals for speed setting the FYB category record at 9.25 seconds. In finals she slipped on her first run putting up an 11 second time. She stepped up on her second lap to take 1st place and set a new FYB category record at 9.17 seconds. She was equally excited to see her bestie @callie.close post her personal record 9.8 seconds and win silver. Now she and Callie are getting ready for the Youth World Championships in Moscow next month. I couldn't be more proud of her.
Ethan climbed great during nationals. He placed 6th in qualifiers and 5th going into finals. While finals did not go as he hoped, he still finished 10th in the nation for the Male Junior category. He was also very happy to see his friends @bobby_the_climber_ and @zachgalla at the top of the podium. Super proud of this kid and how hard he worked this season. Now he is looking forward to bouldering season!
