Climbing Instruction

Youth Beginner Classes
Monday-Friday 6pm-8pm / Ages 6 and up
- In this class climbers will learn the basics about different kinds of climbing and safety. As they develop strength they will learn to climb higher and build endurance and develope technique.
Adult Beginner Classes
Monday - Friday 8-10pm / Ages 16 and up
- In this class climbers will learn technique while developing strength and endurance. This is the best start for any adult wanting to try climbing for the first time or even use climbing as a workout routine. This class is also an excellent alternative to weight lifting and will work every muscle group for a total body workout.
Teen Night Class
Friday 8-10pm / Ages 13+
- Learn how to belay or improve technique with your friends. Must be 16 to get belay certified.
E-Unit Advanced Classes
Tuesday & Thursday 6-9pm / Ages 13+
- In this class we offer more advanced training to further develope competition technique through strength and endurance. Our athletes are some
of the strongest climbers in the southeast and use Escalade as their training facility, proving that Escalade is the perfect training facility.
Their dedication is the fuel that drives Escalade to build stronger
climbers. E-Unit is code name for Escalade Advanced Climbers and the team.

Escalade is the First Rock Climbing Gym to develop a
uniform rating system to develop climbing and skills. Our
progressive training system allows climbers to increase strength and
endurance, two of the most important aspects of rock climbing.
Climbing Levels:
5.6 White: The first level in Escalade testing. Everyone that starts the training program will achieve this patch.
5.7 Yellow: Moving to the next level takes more work. Walls and routes will start to become more involved.
5.8 Orange: At this level you are learning more about all aspects of climbing. Climbing terms are familiar to you and you notice that you can hang on smaller holds.
5.9 Green: At this level you have been climbing for some time. Competitions are within your ability. You start to venture outdoors to test your skills.
5.10 Blue: At this level you are an intermediate climber. You have been out on several climbing excursions and associate yourself with other climbers.
5.11 Brown: At this level you are an above average climber. You are starting to find out where your strengths are.
5.12 Red: At this level you are in an advance category of climbers. You will have high strength and endurance at this point.
5.13 Black: At this level you are considered to be at an amateur professional level. Get ready to be a sponsored athlete!
